As the Mayor of Irvington, NJ, Tony Vauss has many civic duties. But all of the responsibilities of Mayor Vauss are driven by the common goal of making the Township of Irvington, NJ, a safer and cleaner place.

Tony Vauss has dedicated himself to rejuvenating the Township of Irvington, NJ, and he stays in tune with the needs and expectations of his community by regularly attending council meetings and public hearings. As the Mayor of Irvington, NJ, Tony Vauss loves interacting with the Township’s residents and hearing from them how he can better serve their community.

Part of Mayor Vauss’ duties also includes building and maintaining positive partnerships and relationships with neighboring municipalities. Since becoming the Mayor of Irvington, NJ, Tony Vauss has built strong bonds with the leaders of Essex County, the State of New Jersey, and adjacent local governments in East Orange, West Orange, Hillside, and Newark.

As a spokesperson for the Township of Irvington, NJ, Mayor Vauss is also responsible for developing and implementing various programs that will improve the community and help it reach its goals.

Under the umbrella of his “One Team, One Dream” initiative, Tony Vauss has remained determined to combat the opioid crisis in inner city neighborhoods and reduce the crime rate in the Township of Irvington, NJ. In November 2017, Mayor Vauss filed suit on behalf of the citizens of the Township of Irvington against opiod manufacturers.  Mayor Vauss has also undergone and overseen several redevelopment and economic development projects within the Township of Irvington, NJ.

Besides creating a safe and clean environment for those who live in the Township of Irvington, NJ, Tony Vauss is also responsible for planning and hosting several events such as the New Jersey Democrats United event in November 2017.

Dating back to his days as a community volunteer, Tony Vauss has always been in tune with the needs of the Township of Irvington, NJ, community. As the Mayor of Irvington, NJ, he is now in an even better position to contribute to fulfilling those needs by fundraising and organizing charitable events.

Since being sworn in as the Mayor of Irvington, NJ, on July 1, 2014, Tony Vauss has painted a bright path for the Township of Irvington, NJ. With Mayor Vauss leading the way, the future of Irvington is truly here.

The experience Tony Vauss has gained over 25 years of being an employee of the Township of Irvington, NJ, has helped prepare him for his duties as Mayor of Irvington, NJ. He has been helping improve the community since the age of 15 when he started as a volunteer, and he hopes to do so for many years to come.
